In math, Irrational Numbers are any real numbers that cannot be expressed as a simple Fraction.


Irrational numbers are the opposite of Rational Numbers.
  • For example the fraction ½ equals decimal 0.5. The decimal number ends making it a rational number.
  • Irrational numbers that numbers that cannot be represented as terminating or repeating decimals.
  • Irrational number example: Pi is a well known irrational number because it never ends: 3.141592653589793...
